This site was first created in 2009 as a way to encourage volunteerism and provide the only known comprehensive list of volunteer opportunities in North Carolina. This platform of volunteerism was expanded into a large scale effort of human empowerment as I became personally became involved with volunteering on a daily basis. Today, it functions as source of motivational support for both the volunteer and recipient. The need for support does not discriminate. Individuals from all walks of life find themselves in need of assistance of various forms.
My work with the Special Olympics led to a position at Wake Forest University in the Human Performance and Biodynamic Lab. With dedication and God's help, my life continued to change in amazing ways. While my passion for Medicine and Research have become a large part of who I am, it all started with a desire to help those in need. My story is being shared, on this site, to inspire you to get involved in empowering yourself and others through volunteerism.
Please, never underestimate the power of volunteerism or the talents you have been blessed with. For the joys of empowering special populations is something everyone should experience. We all have unique talents that are meant to be shared.
I invite you to investigate this site for yourself. You will find organizations in need of your help, along with photos, links, and news. In addition please feel free to personally contact me, if you are in need of additional information or help. I'm pleased to offer special motivational and science programs at no charge; however, donations to one of the charities on this site would be greatly appreciated as compensation.

Isabella Gillespie
